Asia Internet Wealth-Building Bootcamp

I've just got back from Derek Gehl's weekend bootcamp. It was really intense but rewarding event. Derek was clear in his explanations as well as his presentation flow was good. It really helped me to understand the concept of internet marketing. Internet marketing is a new business that I'm getting in and its good to learn from a proven expert. Among all the experts whose seminar I had attended, Derek was the only one who was down to earth and lowered everyone's expectations, ie, we can't earn 1 million within a year. Wow! I was blown away, this guy is actually telling us beginners that we need to take time to build the business. But as the business grows, it can be automated and replicated to grow the recurring profits, hence achieving our millions of dollars dream ha ha.

Well, after attending the Derek's bootcamp, I'm totally taken in to start my internet marketing business...gotta start doing research.

Tomorrow my coaching class for basic internet marketing skill with Sern Yi will start. I can't wait for the class to start man. Time to get my hands dirty and work on it, yeah!

Options Trading Championship 2007 Cont'd

The OTC was an exciting event. I felt great being a participant of an internationally recognised event which was run concurrently in Singapore and Indonesia as well. The M'sian venue was in Global Business Park, SS19. First impression of the building was "huh?? This kind of place??! Sure or not?". The building is right in middle of an industrial zone and looks run down.

When we entered the building, other participants were green with envy after seeing our team t-shirts. Friends from success Resources were also impressed with our effort. Yeah we really showed them that we are out to win the prize.

The calm before the trading storm

Despite of the drab looking building, the inside of the function room is a world of difference. We were relieved that the deco and finishing was nice and trading stations were clean, spacious and neatly laid out. Even the lighting, sound and internet speed were impressive. The OTC had 60 participants in M'sia, approx 90 in Indonesia and approx 160 in S'pore. In M'sia we had 15 teams.

Day 1
On the 1st day our team had fun and laughter while other teams were busy doing last minute analysis. We were well prepared as we had strategised our plan of attack way before the OTC. It now boils down to timing our entry points.

Having a teh tarik break relaxing...who said trading is stressful? No worries ha ha!

Day 2
Based on our team's trading strategy, 2 of our team members were in the top 20 individuals in the OTC who has the highest increase in portfolio, C Hun was no. 8 and I'm 17. On overall team effort, our team "Fun Gappers" was the 4th best in the OTC.

Day 3

Day 2 trading results was announced on the 3rd day before the opening of Day 3 trading hours. On Day 2's results, another one of our team member, Wai Ling, was in the top 10 individuals in the OTC. Several bellwether companies missed their earnings and the entire market was down big time. So even when Richard announced the Day 2 results, there were mixed feelings as Day 3 is going to be very very tough...Before the opening bell, everyone was in a sombre mood, those who had positions were preparing for the worse, some could not believe the crash was so bad. Some lost everything...it took everyone around 2 hours to accept the market crash and the losses incurred. Those more experienced traders took it in their stride much earlier.

On Day 3, we talked to many other traders and made some friends here and there. It was interesting listening to how they traded and analyse their companies. After the closing bell, we felt a bit sad OTC has ended as we were having lots of fun and enjoyed ourselves trading together and making friends here and there.

1 More Day...

This is it. In less than 24 hours, my team will be in the trading room playing to win the Options Trading Championships. Our team leader has just return from her honeymoon yesterday and this whole afternoon we were shortlisting our targeted companies and strategising our plan of attack.

I must remember to bring my camera along to take some shots of my new friends at the championship. Keep our friends close and your enemies closer ha ha ha!

I know we can win the group category...yes, do or die, we have to win at least 1 category. May the Force be with us...

Options Trading Championship 2007

6 more days until the championship starts...

Today we had just arranged for the printers to do the team uniform. The design is really cool and is done by one of my close friends, Suan Bee. I hope the ink transfer will be ok, or else the design will not be so nice. Will post a picture of it after the championship.

One of our team member is on honeymoon, she'll be back 2 days before the championship, 1 day to debrief and strategise and another day to travel to KL...actually on the way, we can also discuss about our trading strategy...hmmm I hope we won't get caught in the Hari Raya jam man.

I have been emailing some friends on internet marketing, that'll be my next money farm. Really looking forward to start doing biz online.

Spa Wars

The term is derived from the name of the town of Spa, Belgium, where since medieval times illnesses caused by iron deficiency were treated by drinking chalybeate (iron bearing) spring water. In 16th century England the old Roman ideas of medicinal bathing were revived at towns like Bath, and in 1571 William Slingsby who had been to the Belgian town (which he called Spaw) discovered a chalybeate spring in Yorkshire. He built an enclosed well at what became known as Harrogate, the first resort in England for drinking medicinal waters, then in 1596 Dr Timothy Bright called the resort The English Spaw, beginning the use of the word Spa as a generic description rather than as the place name of the Belgian town. At first this term referred specifically to resorts for water drinking rather than bathing, but this distinction was gradually lost and many spas offer external remedies. --- Wikipedia

Whenever I go for holidays, I look forward to visiting the local spa, especially if that region is famous for it. I have been to Bali, Indonesia and tried the famous Balinese hot stone massage. In fact I’ve tried the Balinese massage almost every where I went. However, Bali has still the best valued spas and the service rivals the land of smiles.

However, I do wonder what is the normal expectation whenever a guy goes into a spa. Are we suppose to go full monty or just down to our shorts? I know some spa provides those flimsy disposal ones, some do not and some provide their change of shorts.

I presume this may have something to do with each country’s culture and how they view nudity but…aren’t we suppose to be free of the restrictive clothing, be free and comfy and let our body relax and enjoy the therapeutic treatments? I mean if the masseuses are really professional then they should know what's best right?
